Agnews Historic Cemetery & Museum in Santa Clara
This cemetery was first used after 1906, with burials continuing through the 1960s. View this solemn place from the gazebo area.
There are no burials from the 1906 earthquake at this cemetery. Forty-one of the earthquake victims from Agnews are buried at the City’s cemetery, Mission City Memorial Park, located on Winchester Boulevard. There is a dedicatory plaque to these earthquake victims located near the Mission City Memorial Park offices.
A place to remember the lives of the people that worked and lived at the Agnews State Hospital and later Agnews Developmental Center from 1888 to 2009. Artifacts and photos of the past are displayed for the public to view. The museum is open by appointment only.
