Commercial burglary–Sept. 1, 8 a.m. E. Weddell Drive. While conducting a security check of a business park, an officer came across three people who had broken into a building and were in the process of stealing copper wiring from the business. All three were arrested and booked into county jail for burglary and outstanding warrants.

Possession of stolen property–Aug. 29, 11:56 p.m. N. Mathilda Avenue. Officers made contact with a person sitting in a parked vehicle in a commercial parking lot. The person was determined to be in possession of a cell phone, which was stolen earlier in the evening at San Pedro Square Market in San Jose. The person was arrested and booked into county jail.

Vandalism and trespassing–Aug. 29, 10:08 p.m. Old San Francisco Road. Officers responded to the First United Methodist Church of Sunnyvale on a report of breaking glass and a person seen inside the church. It was determined a transient had broken into the church to watch a DVD and sleep. The person was arrested and booked into county jail for felony vandalism and trespassing.

Recovered stolen vehicle–Aug. 28, 1:24 p.m. Mary Avenue. Passengers in a vehicle were drinking while being driven around the area. The vehicle was located and found to be stolen out of Palo Alto. Officers stopped the vehicle at Blair and Melon courts and arrested all four occupants.

Bank robbery–Aug. 28, 12:43 p.m. S. Mathilda Avenue. A woman robbed a Bank of America by passing a demand note. She was described as a Hispanic or Asian female, late 20s to early 30s, 5-foot-6, 130 pounds. She fled on foot and was not apprehended.

Residential burglary–Aug. 28, 9:45 a.m. Jena Terrace. An unknown person entered a home by removing a screen from an open window and stole electronics and jewelry.

Stong-arm robbery–Aug. 27, 1:50 p.m. Lochinvar Avenue. A woman was walking her child home from school when an unknown person approached her and forcibly snatched a gold chain from her neck. The person fled on foot and was not apprehended.

Residential burglary–Aug. 27, 11 a.m. S. Wolfe Road. An unknown person entered a residence via an unlocked front door and stole several purses.

Criminal threats and battery–Aug. 27, 1:03 a.m. W. Persian Drive. Officers responded to the Brass Rail on a report of a man threatening to shoot people. As he was being escorted out of the bar, he punched one of the security staff. Officers stopped the vehicle the man was riding in, and he was arrested for criminal threats and battery, and was placed on a parole hold. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Strong-arm robbery–Aug. 26, 11:15 a.m. Evelyn Avenue. A woman was walking on the sidewalk when an unknown person approached her and forcibly removed a gold chain from her neck. The person fled on foot and was not apprehended.
