…that around 1940 the 12-acre weed patch at the corner of Pastoria and Washington avenues was named Sunnyvale City Park? Many of the plants seen there today began as seeds in a makeshift greenhouse set up in the weeds. For more Sunnyvale history, visit the Sunnyvale Heritage Park Museum, 570 E. Remington Drive, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sunday, from noon to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
