Baseball program

De Anza College baseball coach Erick Raich will direct a baseball throwing program for both pitchers and position players in December and January. The Combat Velocity Program (combatpitching.com) will run Dec. 6-30 and Jan. 3-31, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5 p.m. at the Cupertino Sports Center and Saturdays at noon at De Anza College. Locals are Ducks

The University of Oregon women’s soccer team featured a pair of former local prep stars on its roster this season. Both Kelsey Foo, a redshirt junior defender from Archbishop Mitty, and Caitlyn Wong, a redshirt freshman defender from Homestead, wore the Ducks’ green and gold colors this year.

Rugby clinic

The Silicon Valley Rugby Football Club will hold a free high school rugby clinic on Dec. 6, 11 a.m., at Calabazas Park in San Jose. No experience is necessary. Visit www.siliconvalleyrugby.org.

Girls water polo

Santa Clara Water Polo, in conjunction with the Santa Clara Swim Club, is looking for girls ages 8-18 to play for its high school and youth teams. Visit santaclaraswimclub.org.

Resolution Run

The 20th annual Los Gatos Resolution Run will return on Jan. 1, 9 a.m. The 5-mile run begins and ends at the Los Gatos High School track. Pre-registration is at Athletic Performance, 55 W.
