Vehicle burglary–Sept. 16, 8:07, 740 E. El Camino Real. Unknown suspects broke the rear driver’s side window of a vehicle parked at Black Angus and stole two laptops and an iPhone valued at $3,300.

Grand theft–Sept. 16, 11:19 a.m. W Fremont Avenue. A patient living at Idylewood Care Center reported waking up and discovering approximately $1,404 in cash missing from his bag. There are no leads.

Shoplifting–Sept. 15, 7:44 p.m. Kern Avenue. Someone in a San Jose Sharks baseball cap, a blue short-sleeve shirt and jeans entered a store, put on a jacket, grabbed two more jackets and left without paying. The total value of the three jackets was $773.

Shoplifting–Sept. 15, 4:41 p.m. E. El Camino Real. Two suspects took a rotisserie chicken from a shelf at Safeway and left without paying. Suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival. The total value of the chicken was $8.

Vehicle burglary–Sept. 15, 11:25 a.m. E. Arques Avenue. A burglary occurred in the parking lot of the City Sports Club when an unknown person used a tool to open a vehicle. A Garmin GPS, a jacket and $5 in coins were taken along with several tools that were in the trunk.

Vandalism–Sept. 14, 7:02 a.m. Cheyenne Drive. At Chester W. Nimitz Elementary School two crosswalk signs were ripped out. A third crosswalk sign was partially smashed but still attached to the roadway.

Vehicle burglary–Sept. 13, 1:40 p.m. Ahwanee Avenue. While the victim was in Hobee’s restaurant, a car was broken into after the front passenger’s side window was broken. A black purse, cash and a Mexican consulate identification card were taken from the vehicle.

DUI–Sept. 13, 7:31 a.m. Washington Avenue and Charles Street. Sunnyvale DPS and Santa Clara County EMS were alerted to a male slumped over in the driver’s seat of a car in the middle of an intersection. Officers determined that the man was intoxicated. The man refused to perform a field sobriety test.

Attempted vehicle theft–Sept. 12, 10:06 a.m. Toyama Dive and Interlaken Terrace. Unknown suspects entered a locked vehicle, removed the steering column and attempted to start the vehicle by placing a piece of metal to the ignition. Suspects fled prior to discovery.

Vandalism–Sept. 10. 11:27 p.m. E. El Camino Real. A suspect kicked and damaged a glass door at McDonald’s when told by staff that the restaurant was closed. The suspect appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested. The damage is estimated to be approximately $700.
