Fire– June 15, 2:36 p.m. S. Sunnyvale Avenue. A dryer in a hotel caught fire and spread in the laundry room. The fire was extinguished by the sprinkler system by the time Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety fire personnel responded. The smoke was cleared from the building, and it was determined that no one was injured.

Fire–June 14, 11:01 a.m. 965 E. El Camino Real. A fire broke out on a second story balcony. A DPS fire crew contained and extinguished the fire.

Stolen vehicle–June 12, 3:52 a.m. Susan Way. A car traveling at a high rate of speed was stopped by officers. Both occupants were in possession of items that had been stolen from another vehicle. Both were arrested.

Residential burglary– June 11, 11:20 a.m. Vienna Drive. A resident was awoken by an intruder who had gained access to the residence by cutting the screen to a window. The suspect subsequently fled out the front door. It was unknown if any items had been stolen.

Commercial burglary–June 11, 2:05 a.m. Mary Avenue. Electronics were stolen from a burglarized business.

Residential fire–June 10, 1:51 p.m. Michelangelo Drive. A fire broke out in a laundry room. DPS responded and extinguished the fire. No other rooms or residences were affected.

Vehicle burglary–June 5, 12:01 p.m. Old San Francisco Road. Two moving boxes containing an Xbox One, screwdrivers, a drill and a pair of shoes were stolen when the rear passenger’s side window was shattered by an unknown suspect.

Petty thefts– June 7, 8 a.m to 3 p.m. Several vendors at the Sunnyvale Art and Wine Festival reported stolen items to police throughout the day, including jewelry, purses, sunglasses and decorative items. A person was arrested in connection with the thefts and the report is being sent to the Santa Clara County District Attorney for review and possible prosecution of the suspect.
