Sunnyvale Farmer's Market

Sunnyvale offers one of the best farmers markets in the bay area at Sunnyvale Farmers Market, located between Washington Avenue and the Sunnyvale CalTrain station. Sunnyvale Farmers Market operates each and every Saturday from 9 AM to 1 PM.

There are so many reasons to visit our local farmer’s market, not least of which is the support of local growers and suppliers. While supermarkets, grocery stores, department stores, and even drug stores offer products localized to the areas where they operate, it is much more difficult to figure out exactly where these products came from. They source products from around the country as well as many overseas suppliers; this includes produce, clothing, accessories, and more. At Sunnyvale Farmers Market, you can be sure that you are supporting our local hard-working growers and artisans. If you ever have a question about the source of a product, you can ask the producer him or herself. Sunnyvale Farmers Market offers locally grown and fresh fruits and vegetables, flowers, meat such as local grass-fed beef, bread, clothes, and accessories. You’ll also find free samples, amazing prepared food and breakfast, too!

Another reason to stop by Sunnyvale Farmers Market is the family-friendly atmosphere. The market is set up like a “T” including historic Murphy Avenue, such that it is easy to navigate, while there is enough space and enough entrances and exits to allow the steady flow of customers proper access. The beautiful tree-lined streets of Sunnyvale Farmers Market make this a Saturday morning destination spot for families of all sizes. It’s possible to spend a few hours browsing, purchasing, and enjoying the sights, sounds, and tastes of the farmers market.

Of course, you’ll need to take a few things into consideration when visiting Sunnyvale Farmers Market. First, parking is very difficult in the immediate areas, including the Macy’s parking lot across the street. These parking areas fill up quickly, not only with Sunnyvale Farmers Market visitors, but with shoppers in the adjacent malls and department stores. We would recommend you park at the Target on Mathilda and Iowa Avenues, which is a five to ten minute walk from the farmers market. Also, be advised that the prices at Sunnyvale Farmers Market are higher than those that you would find at an ordinary grocery or department store. This isn’t really a problem as you can find products you wouldn’t find anywhere else and you can be sure that you are supporting the local community over all else.
