Whether it's for a date, happy hour, or a place to watch the big game, Sunnyvale has just about every type of bar for a great night out. Here's an overview of where to go when you need to get a drink...

The Firehouse Grill and Brewery serves its award-winning beer across a grill menu that caters to every taste. Yes, you can get nachos and sliders, but how about salads and pastas too? Firehouse has large flat-screen TVs all around, so you can watch multiple games at once.

Faultline Brewing Co. is, like Firehouse, another brewery with a grill restaurant. Faultline's restaurant is a little less casual than Firehouse, so you'll probably find fewer people their catching the game and more Silicon Valley workers enjoying happy hour after a long day at the office. It's also a great place to go on a low-key date.

Shooters Bar & Grill represents something that every city needs -- a dive bar to call home. That's not meaning any disrespect, as the cocktail mixes are fantastic at Shooters and the environment is casual and welcoming. Grab a pitcher of beer with friends, play some darts, and mingle with the diverse crowd of regulars and Silicon Valley workers.

If you enjoy live music of all types, Sunnyvale's The Quarter Note is the best place to go for a beer and some tunes. Hosting a variety of bands, from up-and-coming local bands to touring jazz professionals, there's a reason why The Quarter Note was voted the Best Night Club In Town by The Wave Magazine.

Maybe live music’s not your thing, but how about some stand-up comedy? We’ve mentioned Rooster T. Feathers on Sunnyvale.com before, and why not? With nationally touring comedians stopping by on a regular basis, Rooster T. Feathers is well known on the comedy circuit and is a great place to get a drink while experiencing something a little different. Who knows, maybe you’ll catch a rising star on the amateur open mic.

And to round things out, sometimes you just need to go to the local Irish Pub, join in on Quiz Night, and down a Guiness. Fibbar MaGees is in the heart of Sunnyvale's downtown on Murphy Avenue. Like all Irish Pubs, Fibbar MaGees offers a welcoming atmosphere perfect for an after-dinner drink or just a night out with some friends.

So it's simple, right? Sunnyvale provides all manners of bars to kick back, relax, and enjoy some beverages in good company. If none of these places tickle your fancy, check out our complete listings at Sunnyvale.com.
