Odd Places to Visit in San Jose

From the Winchester Mystery House to the San Jose Flea Market, there are places to visit in and around San Jose which will leave an impression in one’s mind for years to come. The cultural and ethnic diversity of this vibrant area also make it an excellent choice for those looking for something off the beaten path. San Jose Japantown and the Japanese Friendship Garden in San Jose both offer something educational and amazing for anyone.

The Japanese Garden in San Jose has some of the most beautiful landscaping anywhere. To visit here is to take a trip across the ocean without leaving the shores of one’s own nation. Japantown in San Jose is a testament to the diversity that makes this area so unique and the Japanese Friendship Garden in San Jose is an excellent place to enjoy a romantic getaway or just a quiet afternoon. The Flea Market in San Jose is decidedly less tranquil. The San Jose Flea Markets draw vendors and browsers from all over the region looking for a great bargain or an interesting find. The Farmers Marking in Mountain View, CA is an excellent place to stock up on great, fresh produce.

The Winchester Mystery House is truly bizarre. From staircases that end in blank ceilings to the endless, rambling architecture, this is one of America’s truly odd places. The Winchester Mystery House is open for tours and visiting here is a truly creepy experience. The construction of this house took place throughout the 19th Century and it represents one of the oddest structures one is likely to see anywhere, as well as one of the largest. The owner of the home was convinced that she was haunted by the ghosts of the rifles made by her famous family.
