The Sunnyvale Downtown Association and Broadcom present their 3rd annual Jazz & Beyond series, "A Musical Dining Experience." The series includes live music & food from over twenty restaurants located on Murphy Avenue. "Picture one huge street, explains Joel Wyrick, Executive Director of the Sunnyvale Downtown Association, "You sit down and your sever presents you a menu featuring over twenty different restaurants ranging from Mediterranean to Thai food with over ten fancy wines to choose from. Literally, everyone sitting at your table can order from a different restaurant thus eliminating that dreadful dilemma of going out to dinner with family or friends and having to decide on what cuisine everyone is willing to agree on. Simply put, there is nothing out there like this event." The series will run for eight weeks starting Saturday July 9th, 2011, 5:30pm-8:30pm on historic Murphy Avenue in Downtown Sunnyvale.
How it works...diners will sit down and receive a master menu from a server. Diners will call in their order to their chosen restaurant and the restaurant will deliver the menu item to the diner's table. The close proximity of the twenty restaurants (Murphy Avenue boasts over 20 restaurants within 300 feet each other) makes this an easy deliverable experience. "What makes this event so appealing and different from all other festivals and events I've ever seen is that this event directly increases my bottom line. There are no outside food vendors. All of the participants are local restaurants with a physical location on the street," states Joe Antuzzi, restaurant participant.
