The California Theatre Center is a unique theatre company that focuses on productions for younger audiences. With an ensemble of two dozen actors and a dedicated staff, California Theatre Center productions feature fairy tales, children's literature, and historical stories. In addition, California Theatre Center offers an annual summer season of plays for adult audiences.
Sunnyvale Community Players is an award-winning community theater group with more than 40 years of history. Featuring a wide range of productions, Sunnyvale Community Players caters to young and old, and offers performing and production opportunities to people with all levels of experience
Sunnyvale Singers is a community chorus with two major concerts each year at the Sunnyvale Community Theatre. You'll also find the Singers at other venues around the area. Performing a range of both classical and contemporary choral music, the Sunnyvale Singers provide the community with a great opportunity to indulge in the finer aspects of classical music.
What are the other arts supported by Sunnyvale, you may ask. The annual Sunnyvale Art & Wine festival takes place every summer with around 500 of both vendors and presenters of arts, crafts, food, and wine. With live music, family activities, and something to satisfy the appetite of even the pickiest eater, the Sunnyvale Art & Wine Festival is an event locals and visitors enjoy every year.
For a more casual event you can catch some improvised melodies in Sunnyvale. On the third Sunday of every month, bluegrass musicians gather outside of the Heritage Park Building for an afternoon jam session. Newcomers are welcome, but be sure to bring your own instruments – and no amps or electric instruments; after all, this is bluegrass we’re talking about here in its best and natural form.
